The President of the Republic, His Excellency Paul BIYA granted audience to the Special Envoy of the Nigerian President, Ambassador Joseph Keshi on 4 February 2021 at the Unity Palace. The emissary was bearer of a message from H.E. Muhammadu Buhari, President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Ambassador Joseph Keshi said Nigeria was soliciting Cameroon’s support in the African Union Commission elections slated for 6 February 2021 in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa. Nigeria is vying for the position of Commissioner for Political Affairs, Peace and Security. 

Ambassador Joseph Keshi said they seized the opportunity to review the excellent bilateral ties that exist between Yaounde and Abuja especially in domains such as the fight against terrorism and trans-border crime.
