Maëllys Ngo Mboui was crowned Miss Cameroon 2026 on 19 September, bringing to a close the 19th edition of the nation's foremost beauty pageant in a ceremony held at the Yaounde Conference Centre.

This year's proceedings were convened under the theme "Fighting Cybercriminality."

Representing Miss Diaspora France, Ngo Mboui triumphed in a win carrying considerable symbolic weight, marking a moment of recognition for Cameroonians residing abroad and heralding what organisers have described as a new chapter in the pageant's history. She succeeds Audrey Moutongo Black as Miss Cameroon and now assumes the mantle of the nation's beauty ambassador, entrusted with representing Cameroonian womanhood and culture over the coming year.

The crown was bestowed upon her by Mrs Chantal Biya in a ceremony that stirred deep emotion among the assembled audience.

The First Lady's presence reaffirmed the esteem in which the pageant continues to be held throughout Cameroon; her attendance, and the personal grace with which she performed the coronation, lent the occasion an added measure of dignity.

Organisers described her involvement as a source of encouragement to the young women who had taken part and, as in years past, her presence was widely regarded as a mark of solidarity with a national platform devoted to celebrating Cameroonian women.

In the months ahead, Ngo Mboui is expected to lend her voice to this year's chosen cause alongside her wider pageant duties, representing her country both at home and, in keeping with tradition, on the international stage.
