President Paul BIYA restructures the Mining Sector
A presidential decree signed on 14 December 2020 has created the National Mining Corporation (SONAMINES). This new establishment will henceforth develop and promote the mining sector in Cameroon.
New officials at IRAD and SODECAO
The President of the Republic, His Excellency Paul BIYA signed four decrees on 24 July 2018 appointing top officials at the Institute of Agricultural Research for Development (IRAD), and the Cocoa Development Corporation (SODECAO).
President appoints new officials for CRTV and the Yaounde Conference Centre
The President of the Republic His Excellency Paul BIYA has appointed new officials at the helm of the CRTV and a new Board Chairperson for the Yaounde Conference Centre. By the Presidential Decree No. 2016/272 of 29 June 2016, Mr. Charles Pythagore NDONGO was appointed the General Manager, while Presidential Decree No. 2016/273 of 29 June 2016 appointed Mr. Emmanuel WONGIBE as the Deputy General Manager.
Defence Forces : Five New Generals
The President of the Republic His Excellency Paul BIYA has appointed five new Generals in the Cameroon Armed Forces. The Presidential Decree N° 2015/381 of 13 August 2015 promoted five Colonels to the rank of Brigadier General. Those promoted are:
The Head of State appoints new Commander of the Yaoundé Air base
The President of the Republic His Excellency Paul BIYA has appointed Colonel MVONDO MENYENGUE Alfred as the new Commander of the Yaoundé Air base, by Decree N° 2015/221 of 12 May 2015.
Official funeral for Françoise FONING
The President of the Republic His Excellency Paul BIYA signed a decree on 18 March 2015 instituting an official burial ceremony for Mrs. Françoise FONING, former Member of Parliament and Mayor of Douala V, who died in Yaoundé on 23 January 2015.
