The President of the Republic His Excellency Paul BIYA and his wife left Yaoundé on Wednesday 4 November 2013 for France where a meeting has been organised by French President François HOLLANDE on security in Africa. President Paul BIYA and other African leaders will join their French host on the 6th and 7th of December 2013 for talks on how to deal with terrorism and other conflicts on the continent.

The Head of State was received at the airport by a team of senior state officials, including the President of the Senate Marcel NIAT NJIFENJI; the Speaker of the National Assembly Honourable CAVAYE YEGUIE DJIBRIL; the Prime Minister, Head of Government Philemon YANG; the Secretary General at the Presidency of the Republic, Ferdinand NGOH NGOH; and the French Ambassador to Cameroon, Christine ROBICHON.

President Paul BIYA granted four brief audiences to the President of the Senate, the Speaker of the National Assembly, the Secretary General at the Presidency of the Republic and the Director General of External Research Leopold Maxime EKO EKO. First Lady Chantal BIYA had time to chat with the wives of some collaborators of the Head of State.

The Head of State’s participation at the summit in France is in line with his quest for peace and stability, the one and only way to guarantee economic and social development of the country.
