A befitting monument to commemorate the Reunification of Cameroon was unveiled by the President of the Republic His Excellency Paul BIYA on Wednesday 19 February 2014 to loud cheers from the population of Buea and a host of national dignitaries present at the occasion. The magnificent structure is built with concrete and metal cylinders, with the logo of the celebration of the Independence and Reunification of Cameroon as the central unit.

Speaking to the press after an inspection tour of the monument, President Paul BIYA said that the monument was a homage to the efforts consented by the people of Cameroon to live in peace and prosperity. 

The Head of State and Madam Chantal BIYA were warmly applauded by the population that turned out in their numbers to witness this rare moment in the life of the nation.
