First Lady Chantal BIYA was guest of honour at the third edition of a charity gala organised on 7 June 2025 at the Hilton Hotel, Yaounde, by the Sovereign Military Order of Malta to support efforts against childhood cancer in Cameroon.

33 important articles were auctioned including the memorabilia of Cameroon’s football legend Samuel Eto’o, two-time Olympic gold medallist in the triple jump Françoise Mbango Etone, and racecar driver Christian Ebong.

66 million FCFA was raised during the event to fund the Sovereign Military Order’s humanitarian activities in the Paediatric Oncology Centre of the Chantal BIYA Foundation, the Saint John of Malta Hospital in Njombe, and the Rohan Chabot Centre for Leprosy and Child Care in Mokolo.

This year’s event was grace by the presence of His Excellency Dr Josef Blotz, the new Grand Hospitaller of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta, and Ambassador Jean-Christophe Heidsieck. Both personalities lauded the cordial collaboration from Cameroonian officials and thanked First Lady Chantal BIYA for her invaluable support.
