The President of the Republic His Excellency Paul BIYA has gratified Cameroonian civil servants with the decree harmonising the age limit to go on retirement. Henceforth, all workers of category A and B will retire at the age of 60 (sixty) years, while those of category C and D will retire at 55 (fifty-five) years. This salutary measure is welcome and soothing news for civil servants, irrespective of the profession, as only some of them benefitted from this provision before the signing of this decree.
In keeping with his desire to accelerate the decentralisation process in Cameroon, the President of the Republic His Excellency Paul BIYA signed today Decree N°. 2020/547 of 7 September 2020 convening electors for the election of Regional Councillors, to take place in headquarters of all Divisions on Sunday 6 December 2020.
Substantive and alternate members of the Higher Judicial Council met at the Unity Palace on 10 August 2020, in a session that was chaired by the President of the Republic, His Excellency Paul BIYA – guarantor of the independence of Cameroon’s magistracy.
