In continuation of her busy end-of-year schedule, Mrs. Chantal BIYA brought joy and merry making to the patients, staff and guests of the Applied Research, Endoscopic Surgery and Human Reproduction Hospital Centre, better known by the French acronym CHRACERH. Several Members of Government and senior dignitaries of the Republic attended the event that was organised on Saturday 23 December 2017.
At least 1,500 underprivileged children – pupils from seven primary schools, orphans of the Children First Centre, and patients at the Mother and Child Centre – have received Christmas gifts donated by Mrs. Chantal BIYA, UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador and Special Ambassador of UNAIDS.
Mrs. Chantal BIYA – patroness of the Coccinelles school complex at the Unity Palace – has in her traditional gesture of motherly love – encouraged pupils of the establishment to maintain their outstanding output. The First Lady, Mrs. Chantal BIYA has joined forces with the spouses of African and European leaders to promote the actions of the R20 Green Fund – on women and the green economy. This was during a debate lunch on 29 November 2017; organised by Mrs. Dominique Ouattara – First Lady of Côte d’Ivoire, on the sidelines of the 5th African Union and European Union Summit.
Mrs. Chantal BIYA paid a visit to the “Foundation Grand Cœur” – a humanitarian organisation founded by the Chadian First Lady, Mrs. Hinda Deby Itno. This was on the sidelines of the extraordinary summit of Heads of State and Government of the Central African Economic and Monetary Community (CEMAC), on 31 October 2017.
