The Head of State His Excellency Paul BIYA granted audience to the French Minister of Foreign Affairs, Laurent FABIUS, on Friday 15 March 2013

The French Minister of Foreign Affairs was granted audience for over one hour on Friday afternoon, during which he discussed several issues with the Head of State. Speaking to the press immediately afterwards, he revealed that they discussed the kidnapping of French citizens in Northern Cameroon by insurgents from Nigeria, the intervention of French forces to fight the islamists in Mali and the recent visit of President Paul BIYA to France during which he invited French businesses to invest in Cameroon.

During the audience, the President of the Republic was accompanied by the Minister of External Relations Pierre MOUKOKO BONJO, the Secretary General of the Presidency of the Republic Ferdinand NGOH NGOH and the Director of the Civil Cabinet Martin BELINGA EBOUTOU. A gift of a bronze statute was presented to the French Minister at the end of the discussions.
