The President of the Republic His Excellency Paul BIYA granted audience to the outgoing French Ambassador to Cameroon Christine ROBICHON, on Thursday 15 September 2016 at Unity Palace.

The two personalities had discussions for over one and a half hours on various issues of common interest to France and Cameroon.

She saw this as a mark of the great friendship between our two countries but also for her as an individual.

The French Ambassador affirmed that during her stay in Cameroon, the two countries have strengthened their friendly and solidarity ties. The two countries were together in the face of security problems that resulted from the conflict in the Central African Republic and the activities of the Boko Haram terrorist group.

This was so because, Christine ROBICHON indicated, France has always been concerned about the security, stability and development of Cameroon. A case in point was the signing of the 3rd phase of the debt cancellation programme known as C2D.

She was very optimistic about the relations between the two countries in view of the high level contacts that have taken place between the two countries of recent.
