The President of the Republic His Excellency Paul BIYA granted audience to Gabonese Minister of Foreign Affairs Emmanuel ISSOZE-NGONDET, special envoy of Gabonese President Ali BONGO ONDIMBA, on Friday 13 September at Unity Palace

Speaking to the press immediately after the audience that lasted over one hour, the Gabonese Minister of Foreign Affairs expressed his pleasure and gratitude to the Head of State for receiving him and praised the quality of good brotherly and friendly relations that exist between Cameroon and Gabon. The audience was opportunities for the two personalities to make an overview of these relations which he said are very excellent.

The Gabonese envoy indicated that he briefed President Paul BIYA on a proposal put forward by Gabonese Head of State Ali BONGO ONDIMBA to create a fund within the Economic and Monetary Community of Central African States (CEMAC). Such a fund, Emmanuel ISSOZE-NGONDET posited, is a mechanism that will go a long way to create jobs for youths in the sub-region, as they will easily get loans and grants that can help them set up small businesses or projects.

The Gabonese Minister of Foreign Affairs also told the press that the situation in the Central African Republic was also examined during the audience. It should be noted that insecurity, with rampant killings and looting has rendered life difficult in this country that is one of the CEMAC countries.
