The Head of State His Excellency Paul BIYA granted audience to the Turkish Ambassador to Cameroon Omer FARUK DOGAN on Friday 28 February 2014, during which they reviewed Cameroon – Turkey cooperation during the year that just ended.

Speaking to the press after their discussions that lasted nearly one hour, Omer FARUK DOGAN started off by stating that he used the occasion to congratulate Cameroon for the magnificent celebration of the Reunification of Cameroon, a very important historical moment for the country.

He revealed that they discussed key development issues, notably related to energy, tourism, roads, dams and other major infrastructure projects that will go a long way to enhance the development of Cameroon. The revamping of the SONARA refinery was of utmost importance to his country as they participated in the tenders for the works to be carried out there.

The Turkish Ambassador was equally delighted the eminent opening of the Cameroon Embassy in Ankara, and said that this will constitute a major boost to the relations between the two countries.
